Welcome to Learning at St Luke's Primary and Nursery
At St Luke's Primary and Nursery, we are dedicated to fostering an environment where your children can learn and grow, both academically and personally. Our curriculum is designed to nurture the whole child, ensuring that each student not only acquires essential skills but also develops a strong set of values. We believe that the foundation of a successful education lies in a balanced approach, where children feel valued and motivated to explore new challenges.
Our commitment to comprehensive education allows your child to thrive in a supportive atmosphere. By focusing on a broad range of subjects and activities, we provide opportunities for every child to discover their interests and talents. At St Luke's, learning goes beyond the classroom; it is about inspiring our students to carry their skills and values into everyday life, preparing them for a bright and fulfilling future.

Art and Design
Art and Design
Art and Design provides our pupils with the opportunities to develop skills and express their individual interests, thoughts and ideas. We value creativity throughout the curriculum, ensuring the curriculum reflects high-quality art and design lessons that engage, inspire and challenge pupils, equipping them with the knowledge and skills to experiment, invent and create their own works of art, craft and design. As pupils progress, they are guided to think critically and develop a more rigorous understanding of art and design. Pupils also develop their cultural capacity and study how art and design both reflect and shape our history, and contribute to our diverse backgrounds.

French
At St Luke’s, we aim to equip pupils for their future through a well sequenced French curriculum enabling pupils to develop the knowledge, skills and attitudes needed for their present and their future. We aim for readiness. Through delivering high quality French lessons, we encourage pupils to develop a broader interest in and understanding of French language and cultures from French speaking countries. We aim to provide purposeful learning opportunities to speak with increasing confidence in school, on trips and on visits abroad. By the time pupils leave St Luke’s, they are able to listen, speak, read and write in French so they are more than prepared to continue their MFL at secondary school.
